Read for My Summer

Caroline's fabulous kindergarten teacher posted free ebooks on pinterest.

I was interested so I clicked the link.

You know we love a good book around here.

Thank goodness I did!

I found the Read for My Summer free online summer reading program.

" Read for My Summer highlights a special book for you and your child to read online from the We Give Books library every week, along with fun activities and reading tips to make each book come to life."

Awesome, huh?

What is even more awesome is the fact you get a free online book to add to your library.

It is also awesome that the titles are amazing!

I hope you will join us.

"Reading online with your child this summer at We Give Books will help you to prepare for Jumpstart’s Read for the Record event on October 4!"

"Each year, millions of adults and children gather on a single day to set a new reading record and to show their support for early literacy by joining Jumpstart’s Read for the Record. By reading Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad by Jacky Davis and David Soman on October 4, you’ll help to set a new world record for the greatest number of people reading the same book on the same day."

You can learn more about it at the Read for the Record website.

Read, read, read!

 -----------------------------------------

Here we were reading Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney

Then Caroline did this little sheet.
She was asked to draw someone she loved.
She drew Bug, Mommy & Daddy.
So sweet!

Then we read,  You Can't Go to School Naked! by Dianne Billstrom.
Caroline had to draw a picture of herself in her favorite outfit (regular or dress up clothes).
She drew herself in a blue lyrical dress to wears all the time.
She also drew a few headbands in her hair.
