Phone conversation.

Phone rings.

Me: "Hello?"

Friend: "Hey. What are you doing?"

Me: "Well, getting Emma dressed. I just got her out of the bath tub. We went out to dinner tonight and just got home. I was on the phone and didn't noticed that Emma had pooped. When I got off of the phone, Ryan asked what was on the back of her pants. We then realized that it was poop. I took her upstairs and put her in the bath. I took the diaper off and laid it on the floor." I continued to go into extreme detail about the poop, the diaper, Emma's diaper rash.

3 or 4 minutes into the conversation, my friend finally says, "Oh. Well, I was just calling to talk." And, I am sure that is exactly the conversation she wanted to have.

My late night phone conversations have changed dramatically.

You might be a mamma when you open your pocket book and have diapers, books, toys...everything your child needs and not what you need, like your wallet, that has your driver licenes, debt card, check book...

Oh yes! How I can relate!
I also agree with Kelly!

You might be a mama when you flip through the channels and instantly check to see what's on Noggin, Nick Jr, and Disney. What's worse is when there aren't any kids at home. Brain=Fried!

Sounds so familiar. I am sure my non-parent friends just love all the things I have to say.

You might be a momma when you go to the bathroom for the first time of the day, pull down your pants and notice that there is a velcro bib hanging from your pajama pants!

You might be a mama when you look in the mirror and you have a soggy puff stuck in your hair!

You might be a Mama when you realize that you remember some of the same situations that you are reading about and realize that the Mama that is writting it is your daughter's best friend... i believe that would make me an Older Mama....
