Labor Day Weekend

What a relaxing 4 day weekend!

I had my heart set on the beach but Ryan talked me out of it.

We couldn't get down there until later on Saturday and sometimes packing and rushing around with two children just isn't worth all the fuss.

To ease the pain of no beach, I drove a Volvo V70 this weekend.  My dream car no matter what year model it is.

I blew it up this morning (damnit) but I enjoyed it while it lasted.

I'm back in a minivan.  Different one this time.  Back to the white van... also known as the piss van due to the fact it smells of baby wipes and urine.

Emma almost threw up when she had to get in it tonight.

ANYWAY...

Ryan paddled a 17 mile trip that took him most of Sunday.

We had Mexican for dinner Sunday night.

We shopped today.

We had a late lunch/early dinner at Mellow Mushroom tonight.

It is our favorite ever.

Here is my life summed up in one little picture taken with a crappy Blackberry...

Emma has orientation tomorrow.

Caroline has PE (her favorite).

Ryan celebrates a birthday.

It is going to be a fabulous week.

I can feel it.

Even if I am driving the piss van.

Chin up, buttercup!  Things could be worse.

Excuse me, where is mine?

The trend among new parents is the push present.

At first, I was like "what?" I mean clearly, wikipedia even has its definition. What planet have I been living on?

This was not a big trend when either of my children were born. If it was, I just wasn't reading the right books/websites/etc. I have actually heard more about it in the past 6 months than I ever have.

I have decided that it is time for my two push presents. Being that one is 44 months late, Ryan better get on top of it.

I will let him slide with present number two for now. I will give him a little time to get his thoughts together on the second gift. As for gift numero uno, I have made a little list to choose from. Actually there is only one thing to choose from. So, his options are limited.

FYI: As part of the punishment for being late, you may ONLY choose from THIS list. Do not try to surprise me by picking out something that is not on the list. If you do, it will entail another penalty for present number two.

The gift I am about to request may come as a shock to all of you. Being that most of you know that I am extremely anti-mini-van you all may not understand.

Anyway, I want this...

A Volvo V70.

Yes I want a station wagon.

I think they are pimp and I love them.

Be jealous.

You just wish you were cool enough to drive a station wagon.

I'm also thinking of putting a license plate on the front that says, "P.I.M.P."

PS- You're welcome, Ryan. I was happy to carry your two children for 35.5 weeks {that's an average. Caroline= 39 weeks. Emma=32 weeks} I also had a super fun time pushing your two children out. The best 52 minutes and 8 pounds and 3 ounces of my life. Now buy me a station wagon.

PPS- This is a joke. I wish we had enough money for a push present let alone a car. Maybe one day. A girl can dream right.

PPPS- If any of you get a station wagon and place P.I.M.P. on the front of it, I am going to be pissed. Let me see you on the road. My jeep and I will take you DOWN!
